Gugulethu Sophie Mbatha - better popularly known as Gugu - is a British stage actress and film actor. Gugu gained notoriety after her role in BBC's 'Doctor Who' British science-fiction television show. Gugu gained fame for her role as Tish Jones on the series by BBC. She was the twin sister of a character named Martha Jones. Gugu's fans loved her spontaneity and she was soon getting ready for a long-lasting acting career. Gugu also appeared in various British stage and TV productions. Her mother immigrated to the United States in 1958, in the form of an immigrant from Germany. Handler was diagnosed with cancer of the breast in 1989. Handler was educated in Reform Judaism by her father and grandfather, who were Jewish. Handler grew up in a safe neighborhood and had a happy childhood. Handler was 19 when she made the decision to relocate into Los Angeles and pursue acting. To help support herself, Handler began to work as an actress. Handler's storytelling ability was discovered at 21. Handler then decided to make a full-time commitment to stand up comedy. Beginning Of career Handler began her stand-up profession as part of the Oxygen network all-female cast for an undiscovered camera/real-life joke show on TV called Girls Behaving badly. The show ran on air from 2002 to 2005. The handler then began appearing in other programs such as Weekends at the D.L., The Bernie Mac Show, The Practice and My Wife and Kids. Handler worked on The Tonight Show for a while as a correspondent. Handler's big break came in 2006, when she began hosting her show on E! named The Chelsea Handler Show. The show ran for a total of two seasons. Handler then followed up with doing a show in the Comedy Central Hour Stand-Up Comedy Tour and within the United States.
